Waste Report

Estimated waste across the portfolio for 2026-07-20 to 2026-08-18, derived from spend, usage and allocations. Each category can be validated separately, and the validation is recorded against a name and a date.

$0 of the portfolio's $0 active spend is estimated waste.

0 of 0 applications carry at least one finding. Each figure below is counted once: where two categories describe the same spend, the more precise one takes it and the other says so. Every application in the portfolio carries a utilization signal.

W1 · Unused License

Contract Pricing + Usage Signals

$0

No findings

No application has both an isolable Price Per Seat and seats going unused.

W2 · Underutilized Application

Usage Signals + Allocation & Overage + Active Spend

$0

No findings

No application sits between 0% and 50% applicable utilization without W1 or W6 already measuring it.

W3 · Redundant Tool

Category + Type + Active Contract / Purchase Records

$0

No findings

No redundancy group has been confirmed. Redundancy is a judgement about a business, so nothing is attributed until a person confirms it.

W4 · Duplicate Tool

Application Identity + Active Contract / Purchase Records

$0

No findings

No duplicate finding has been confirmed. Duplication is confirmed by a person before any spend is attributed to it.

W5 · Unused Application / Zombie App

Usage Signals + Active Contract / Purchase Records

$0

No findings

No application has gone 90 consecutive days without recorded activity.

W6 · Unused Allocation

Contract Pricing + Allocation & Overage

$0

No findings

No application carries a non-seat allocation with an identifiable cost.

How This Is Counted

The same spend is never counted twice. An application with no recorded activity for 90 consecutive days has its whole active spend counted as W5, and W1, W2 and W6 are set aside for it rather than added on top. Where seats are priced individually, W1 measures the unused ones and W2 stands down because W1 is the more precise figure. W3 and W4 sit on a different axis — an application can be fully used and still be redundant — so they are not set aside by W5, but one application never carries both.

Redundancy and duplication are judgements about a business, so no spend is attributed to either until a person confirms the finding. An application with no usage source is excluded from the rates it cannot support and counted in coverage instead, because an absence of data is not evidence of an absence of use. Thresholds are configured by your organization, so a judgement against one is your threshold rather than Odau’s opinion.

6 of the six categories found nothing in this window; each says above what it looked for. Validating a category records that a person stood behind the figure on a date. It does not certify the figure, and Odau does not certify compliance — the evidence is here, the decision is yours.
